The band's name comes from "The Silmarillion" by J.R.R. Tolkien. "Olvar" is a Quenya word that means "growing things with roots in the ground." It generally refers to all the forms of inanimate life in Arda, but in most cases it refers specifically to trees, which are considered the highest Olvar.
