They call the language of their lyrics "trollspråk" ("troll language" in Norwegian), a mix of different languages (mostly Norwegian and German). "Trollspråk" has no grammar, therefore some track titles as listed on the band's discography page are spelled slightly different than what's listed on the back cover of the CDs.
Likewise, their band-name is often typeset as "TrollfesT", with the capital T at the end.
Per Spelemann and Manskow were session members before joining full-time in 2009.
In Old Norse-Icelandic literature, a Troll is a fiendish creature, human or monstrous who often dabbles in sorcery and other harmful behavior. In later Scandinavian folklore, the Troll is generally thought to as a horrid giant living in woods and caves, preying on humans.
