"Myrkur" is Icelandic for "darkness".

While Myrkur was born in Denmark, she began making music under this name in the United States.She played her debut show at the Danish Roskilde Festival on July 4th, 2015. Her live band also features members of Det Norske Jentekor ("The Norwegian Girl's Choir").She has also recorded a cover of Bathory's "Song to Hall Up High". It is available on her YouTube channel.Her song "Må du brænde i helvede" was featured in the 2015 film "Some Kind of Hate".
