The band come from two different (but close) locations in Portugal: Cascais and Sintra.
Mons Lunae is Latin for "Mount of the Moon". During the Roman era, the mountain Sintra was called Mons Lvnae, hence the name.
The name can be written either Mons Lvnae or Mons Lunae, though the band prefers to use Mons Lvnae.
