The name is pronounced "You-ve-nes."

There has been some beliefs for a long time that the band's name is actually "Juvenes" due to the old English typeface that band used for their logo, which made the "I" letter appear to be a "J". Generally, the Latin language (from which the word 'iuvenes' is derived) does not have any 'J's. The word means 'young,' as it is the word from which the English word 'juvenile' is obtained. On the band's final EP Triumph of the Will, they adopted a new logo entirely.
