Anfalas (pre-Draut) was formed by Cem K. in the summer of 2014. During that summer, the band recorded a demo called "Leux I (Light I), but the demo was never published.

Then the project changed name to Draut in late of 2014.

The word "Draut" means "Light/Daylight" in black speech ,a fictional language crafted by Lord of the Rings writer J. R. R. Tolkien.

Draut's music features minimalism, repetition, and ambient music within black metal. The music is quite long and are typically composed around very few musical motifs and riffs.
