A lo-fi and misanthropic stuff - 80%
It is hard to judge a solo project of atmospheric black metal, specially a debut, you get to wonder what goes on the head of the author, in this case, I risk myself to say this EP is the result of failed relationships of all kinds and pure hatred. It goes without saying that dsbm is such a complex subgenre of metal, and when it comes to a mix between both genres (dsbm and atmospheric bm), it will surely sound something like that. The muffled guitar and ambient soundscapes creates a dark aura, and when put in the recording seems to reflect the inner sadness of the author, specially in the track "Consequences", a sometimes monotonous yet incredible track that totally fly by when you're concentrated.
The intro makes you think about a post-mortal landscape where all the hopes have been crushed against a wall of delusions, an ambient track beautifully composed indeed. I must say that I was surprised with the vocals on "Whispers" maybe the title is a presentation of what is about to come in the song, the whispers of a lost soul, trapped in a world of despair and lovelessness.
It is a good EP for something that was poorly recorded in a nasty bedroom, and the way the tracks connect to each other makes it even better, a nice intro continued by a breathless moment of thoughts and mixed feelings, accompanied by the whispers of consequences that make you feel bad for yourself. It's surely an atmospheric/ dsbm debut.
